We were able to hold the captains meeting having three board members and six captains present. The big decision of the meeting centered on having two brackets or one for the second half. The decision was to play a nine team bracket one more time, that will take nine weeks. Then for the second set of games in the second half, the top four teams will play an "A" bracket and the other five teams will play a "B" bracket, one match against each team in the bracket that will go only four weeks. This will make the second half go 13 weeks which will end the season on March 31.
There will be a second try for a Captains Meeting December 30th, at 8:00 pm at PJ's. The big topic that we need your input on is do we split into an "A" and "B" bracket or do we play as one bracket. The second issue is derived from the answer of the first. If we have two brackets, how any trophies are awarded. If we have one bracket, the same question must be answered. If we go with one bracket, we could still do two traveling trophies. the top 4 teams play for the "A" traveling trophy and the next 4 teams play for the "B" traveling trophy.
The holiday season has finally hit us in full force. The park lots everywhere are packed full and people slowly loose their patient with one another. There is good news in all this. The soft-tip dart world gets a break for a bit.
Medalist and NDA play will start back up on the week of 1/4/09.
This should give the teams plenty of time to make up some of those make up matches that are out there.
Oh, by the way. If you playing some where and there’s something wrong with the board, phone it in to Vendalaska. They won’t know it needs fixing unless some one gives them a heads up.
PJ's Kiss played a good match against the Carp's Stubby Ossik's and Kiss took the Ossik's 10-9. There were no ton 80's or high outs. Thats surpriseing out of these two teams. Good Job Guys.
The Carp's 86er's played the PJ's Wild Things and the Wild Things won 8-11. Good shooting Guys.
The Buckaaroo Bashers played the PJ's Bandits and the Bandits took them 10-9. No high outs or ton 80's.
PJ’s will be having their annual blind draw on New Year’s Eve. Hallie has sweetened the pot with an additional $500.00 added for this event. Every year there’s party favors and food to be had. Come have a good time and bring in the New Year with some darts and if I may, suggest a Trash Can race or two.
Just a note, I was told that Taxi's from this event will be free that night. So there's no reason not to have a few drinks and a good time!
The Anchorage Soft-Tip Dart Association held it’s first board meeting under the new Board. There were a few items discussed as the board tried to get it’s hands around a session almost completed and one about to come around. Money, membership, and events took up most of the discussion.
